STUDY AUTHORS: Kevin Waring & Associates

Outdoor recreational resources and activities are described and mapped. An estimate of their economic contribution to the study areas’ economy also is presented. The information presented is based on state and federal land use plans, Alaska Department of Fish and Game reports on sportfishing and big game hunting, and an inventory of recreational lodges.

Elements

  • Razor clams, especially from around the Polly Creek beach, and Pacific halibut accounted for most of the saltwater harvest in the study area
  • The hunting effort for moose and caribou in the study area is very low, and was non-existent in some years
