Chapter 18: Land and Water Use
STUDY AUTHORS: Kevin Waring & Associates
Existing land ownership, present use, and management status of private and public lands and surface waters are described and mapped based on existing data sources and publications. Federal, state, and local regulatory powers and plans also are discussed.
- Most federal lands in the regional study area are part of three national park units: Lake Clark National Park and Preserve, Katmai National Park and Preserve and the Alagnak Wild River. When combined, these federal park units cover more than 11,600-square miles.
